TIMES SITUBONDO, JAKARTA – Flores is one of the prettiest places for the tourist. Most of their destinations have great scenery on it that satisfy almost the entire tourists who always come there. There’s one lake that makes Flores become special place and that is the Lake Kelimutu.

Lake Kelimutu  is also known as Tri-Colored Lake. It is one of the most exotic lakes that exist in Indonesia. This beautiful lake that located in Mount Kelimutu National Park has 3 different lakes with 3 different colors of water.

The first is Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai with crystal clear water. Right next to it Kelimutu has Tiwu Ata Polo with its ruby red water. Last but not least, there is Tiwu Ata Mbupu with its emerald green water.

The best time to visit this lake is between July and August since between May and September are the dry season in Indonesia. If you want to enjoy the best scenery you need to reach the lake before sunrise.

You can use either land transportations or plane to go there. If you take the plane, you’ll be transferred to Maumere and Ende airport. Then you will need to ride some other vehicles for at least 4 hours from Maumere Kelimutu Lake.

Or you choose to go buy boat from Bali. It will take around 3to 4 days. But you could also visit some other attractions during your trip like Komodo National Park or some tourism village next to Kelimutu.

Regardless to how hard the travel will take, this lake is worth the visit. Lake Kelimutu is the most beautiful lake in Flores. The tri-colored lakes have attracted many people to come and admire its beauty. (*)
