TIMES SITUBONDO, JAKARTA – Yogyakarta has been well known to their beautiful tourist destinations that attracts a lot of tourists either from domestic or foreign country. If you happened to be in this city you need to check the beautiful Prambanan Temple. This temple will bring you back to the past as well give you a beautiful scenery.

The temple itself was a part of the biggest Hindu Kingdom in Indonesia that is Ancient Mataram Kingdom. It was estimated to be built in 856 BC. The UNESCO had confirmed this place as the world legacy about 30 years ago.

Prambanan was discovered by J.W. Ijzerman in 1885. Ijzerman was sent to the place to clean dust and debris that left by Merapi eruption back then. The eruption left the temple in it worse condition. A major reconstruction was done for years, and finally it was reopened for public in 1953.

Since then, the local government has tried their best to conserve this magnificent temple. They even made some nice package to attract the visitor. One of them is Mruput Prambanan. This package will allow you to enjoy this astonishing place early in the morning.

To fit in with the package, the management of Prambanan opens this temple for public from 5.30-08.00 in the morning. Other than that, you could visit this temple starting from 6.30-16.00 local western times. The ticket will cost you for IDR 50 K/pax.

The temple could be reached within 17 Km from Yogyakarta. It’s located at Jalan Raya Solo - Yogyakarta No.16, Kranggan, Bokoharjo, Prambanan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Just grab your bag and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Prambanan especially in the morning. (*)
